Each year, we spend Easter with my cousins and his kids. This year is no different, except we aren’t having our massive Easter egg hunt. Normally, my grandmother put it together. She passed away last year, so we are making a new tradition. We’re going out for brunch instead.
My grandma’s Easter egg hunts were awesome. She filled about 500 plastic eggs with candy, coins and little toys. There were only 6 kids that were in the game. It was so exciting.
Kai is bummed about not having a big hunt. But, I did buy some confetti eggs to put in the yard for him to find. He was never allowed to eat the candy and had to give it to his cousins anyways. It was more about the hunt than the end prize. Sometimes the journey is more exciting than the destination.
My grandma was amazing. I miss her a lot. She loved those kids so much and worked for months getting the hunt ready. One day, when I have grandkids I’m going to do the same thing!!
