DIY Woodland Animal Silhouette Christmas Ornament Craft
I LOVE Christmas. I love the fuzzy feeling leading up to it. It’s so fun to decorate and add joyous warmth to the home.
We have a snowy woodland animal theme on our Christmas tree. I have little berries, apples, pears, pine cones and just the cutest little reindeer, foxes and owls. The colors are gold, silver, red and white.
I’ve been so busy this season with my craft designing freelancing job that I FINALLY I was able to make an ornament craft this year for my own tree. This one is so simple. It really just takes minutes. I already had all of the materials in my house. I bet you do to. You may have to substitute the hemp twine for yarn, but other than that, I bet you’re good to go.
Kids can help make this DIY ornament as well. My son, Kai, however was eager to help but then got sidetracked and ran off to play Legos. Supplies: Tops and lids of Mason jars Hemp string Felt Cut out printed silhouette animals found on Google Scissors Tape Glue Here’s how you make the craft:
Step 1: Cut out 6”x6” squares from your felt.
Step 2: Place your silhouette animal shapes on a piece of felt. Tape it to the felt and cut it out with your scissors.
Step 3: Cut a 12” piece of hemp twine and tie it into a loop.
Step 4: Wrap your loop under your Mason jar top and pull the end through making another loop.
Step 5: Place you the middle part of your Mason jar lid on top of the square piece of felt.
Step 6: Push the felt and the lid into the Mason jar top, which should be connected to the twine. It should hold securely in place.
Step 7: Glue your animal shape on to the center of the felt lid.
Step 8: Turn your lid over and snip off the excess felt.
Step 9: Hang on your Christmas tree.
Project Complete!
***What I love best about this is that it gives a nice block of color on the tree.***
