Glow-in-the-Dark Lightning Strike Garland
Kai turns 8 today!! His glow in the dark bowling party is this Saturday! I’m planning a lot of fun DIYs for it. I’ll show a few on my blog and a few on Momtastic.com. Stay tuned for more!
I love garland. It adds a festive feel to parties. That’s why I had to make one. I love how the lightning bolt is a sub theme of the party and a nod bowling.
Materials needed:
Neon cardstock
Black cardstock
String
Neon straws
Scissors
Glue
Needle
Mini or regular hole puncher
2 print outs of a lightning bolt in two sizes (http://www.clker.com/clipart-storm-lightning-bolt.html)
Circle cutter (optional)
Tape
Step 1:
Cut out the lightning bolts from the printouts. Use them as a stencil by taping them onto the cardstock. Cut all of the lightning bolts out.
Step 2:
Cut circles using your circle cutter or scissors.
Step 3:
Glue your black lightning bolts onto the circles.
Step 4:
Use your hole puncher to snip holes into the top of the lightning bolts.
Step 5:
Snip your straws.
Step 6:
Thread your string with a needle then thread straws and lightning bolts onto the string.
