What are you doing for Earth Day this year? Kai and I going to take a gardening class at our local botanical garden! It’s a class about taking care of your summer garden – and in Florida, because it’s so hot, you have to know what you’re doing. In all reality, I don’t know what I’m doing. Kai is the one with the green thumb.
Since he is so into gardening, I thought it would be fun to encourage friends to get into gardening too. That’s why I made these adorable Earth Day Mason jar seed gifts. We’ve all seen the Mason jars with little animals on them. So, I thought I’d switch it up and add some garden-inspired figurines instead like a fairy, gnome and mushroom.
They are really easy to make. Plus, wouldn’t you be inspired to grow some plants if someone gave you one of these little jars? Click here for the complete tutorial.
- Mason jars
- Seed packets
- Plastic figurine (I bought these at Michaels)
- Craft paint
- Paint brush
- Industrial glue
Step 1: Paint your figurines and Mason jar lids. I had to do 2-3 coats. I was also really impatient and kept painting over wet paint.
Step 2: Glue the figurine to the Mason jar lid.
Step 3: Fill your jars with seed packets and to slap on your labels (click this link for the free printables).
