Make Your Own DIY Recycled Tin Can Wind Chimes
I was rereading an old diary of mine from when I was in middle school. It said that I think I’m an environmentalist. Years later, I’ll tell you, I am. When I wrote that the news was laden with stories about the ozone layer and how we can prevent global warming. I jumped on the environmental bandwagon and I never got off. I also remember taking a trip to California and seeing cows grazing. I wanted to become a vegetarian on the spot. But my mom wouldn’t let me. She made me eat a steak while tears were streaming down my face. Years later, I did swear off beef for about 9 years. Then I decided to eat it, for medical reasons when I became pregnant and actually, I haven’t stopped since.
Okay, that was a tangent. What I was getting at was I love to recycle and repurpose everything that I can.
I recently crafted this adorable recycled tin can wind chime for Momtastic.com. Click here for the complete how-to.
They are so easy to make.
Basically, you decorate tin cans with duct tape. Nail a hole in the top. Then thread fishing line through. Then you thread pom poms on the fishing line and hang on an embroidery hoop. Easy Peasy!! Promise!
