Make Your Own Leaf-Pressed Clay Gift Tags
Here’s a easy gift to give as hostess gifts. Just make a batch and keep them in a drawer for when the time is needed. Then when you’re going over to a friend’s house for dinner or a friend moves into a new space, simply wrap one of these gift tags around a Mason jar, put some of your favorite plant clippings inside and pass them out. The gift tags also look great on wrapped presents as well.
I originally made this for Mother Nature Network. Click here for the complete how-to.
Supplies you need:
- Air dry clay. I used Crayola brand that I bought at the craft store.
- Rolling pin
- Circle cookie cutter
- Leafs
- Pin
- Craft paint
- Paint brush
- Stamp ink
- Mini letter stamps
- Skewer
Instructions:
Step 1: Roll out your clay.
Step 2: Press your circle cutters into clay. Use a skewer to create a little hole for your string.
Step 3: Press leaf cuttings into the clay. Push the leaves down deeper into the clay with a pin. Let dry.
Step 4: When dry, pull up the leaves.
Step 5: Enhance the age with paint and stamps Let dry.
Step 6: Hang on Mason jar or wrapped gift with string.
