Random Act Of Kindness Rocks
Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. What are you doing to spread the love and joy into the universe. Recently, I designed these hand painted rocks for Mother Nature Network to do just that. (Click here for the complete how-to.) After I painted them, my son and some of his friends put them all over our neighborhood park. They liked hiding them like Easter eggs. But you know, someone is going to find them exactly when they need to.
First I painted the river rocks black.
I wrote sayings like:
- Be Positive
- Be Mindful
- Eat Clean
- Enjoy Life
- Play More
And then painted dots on them for extra color. Because, well, you know. I love color!!
This is an inexpensive and fun thing to do, because you never know who will find it and what they are going through. More than likely, the universe will send them to that rock because they are in current need of the message.
Like I said in a previous post, I’m trying hard to teach Kai to be compassionate and spread love into the universe. Giving is sometimes tough when you’re a kid. You want it all. I get it. I was a kid and I wanted it all. But it’s also good to give when really you have enough.
Each Christmas season, my cousin’s family goes on a random acts of kindness spree. I admire my cousin and his wife Jessica so much. They buy random people lunch or send a dessert to someone’s table. They leave unpopped microwavable popcorn bags on Red Boxes with sweet notes on them. They are amazing people and they are teaching their kids the importance of giving.
