I don’t know about you, but I love Harry Potter. There is something about that magical world that pulls on my heart stings. I geek out for everything Harry. That’s why I just had to have one of these DIY Harry Potter mugs for myself. I mean, how cute is this. I designed this for PopSugar.com – so click here for the full tutorial!
Even though I’m an adult, I still daydream about living in the Wizarding World and going to Hogwarts. Think about all the awesome things you could learn how to do. Sigh…..
It’s so easy to make. I first made sharpie mugs a few years ago for Seattle’s Best. In fact, I made about 50 of them. Here’s the trick. You have to use oil based Sharpies or paint pens. And you have to bake them in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes so the drawing can set.
People always ask, are they dishwasher safe? I’m not sure. I tried it a few times and some of them were just fine. A few of the mugs had paint chip off. The best bet is to hand wash them, which can be a drag. But, it’s worth it to have a drink with Harry Potter each morning.
