DIY Olympic Medal Craft
Two years ago, I made these Olympic medals for Netflix’s stream team project. (Please don’t mind the lighting in the photos. Like I said, it was two years ago and I wasn’t as skilled with my camera as I am today.)
Doesn’t Kai and his BFF Beahr look so cute (and young!) I kept these medals and recently gave them to Lily, one of Kai’s good friends, because she just had an Olympic-themed birthday party. It was so much fun.
Go to my old site: klscrafts.com for the complete how-to.
They were actually really easy to make. I was even surprised my self.
Supplies:
- Circle cookie cutter (or use the rim of a glass)
- Gold, silver and bronze clay (I used Sculpey brand found at most craft stores)
- Toothpicks
- Rolling pin
- Plastic bead necklace (for design imprints on the medals)
- Ribbon
Instructions:
Step 1: Roll out the clay and use a circle cookie cutter to make the shape of the medal.
Step 2: Use a tooth pick to write the number of the medal and cut out the ribbon hole. Then decorate the medal with beads.
Step 3: Then put them in the oven according to the instructions on the package.
