How to make no-mess summer fruit magnets
My family loves fruit. Sometimes it feels like we eat it by the truck load. That’s why today’s post is dedicated to our favorite food/snack/meal/dessert/all of the above.
I’m also obsessed with the kitschy vibe of the 50’s, where everyone had fruit magnets on their refrigerator. You know those plastic ones that you grandma used to have. Anyways, I thought I’d make a modern version of fruit magnets using light weight craft foam. The craft foam that I chose has an adhesive back so I didn’t even to worry about gluing or anything. Just stick and go. Easy peasy and NO MESS!
Materials:
- Scissors
- Self adhesive craft foam (I bought it at Micheals. With the 40% off coupon, you get a large pack for about $5.)
- magnets (I bought the ceramic magnets so they will hold more weight. The button magnets I think aren’t strong enough.)
Instructions:
Step 1: Draw your fruit shapes on a piece of paper as a template.
Step 2: Cut the fruit shapes out of the adhesive craft foam and stick the pieces together.
Step 3: Attach the magnets to the back of the craft foam fruit shapes.
Step 4: Stick on your refrigerator.
